What Is a Liver Function Panel?
A liver function panel (LFP) assesses liver health through multiple blood tests.
Components
- ALT — liver cell damage
- AST — liver/heart/muscle damage
- ALP — bile ducts
- GGT — alcohol/bile ducts
- Total bilirubin — liver processing
- Albumin — liver synthetic function
- Total protein — overall protein status
Interpreting Patterns
- High ALT/AST = liver cell damage
- High ALP/GGT = bile duct obstruction
- Low albumin = chronic liver disease
- High bilirubin = liver or bile duct problem
